Welcome to the Institute for Food Safety and Security

The Institute for Food Safety and Security (IFSS) at Iowa State University is an organization established to combine and coordinate the activities of the seven major facets of food safety. The IFSS affiliated faculty and staff are dedicated to protecting Iowa's and the nation's vast investment in agriculture; and directly serving production, processor and consumer needs by enabling rapid identification and effective responses to food safety and security concerns that have impact throughout the global food chain.
